Cleveland EMS is now requiring that all EMS providers wear body armor. I 100% support this. 911 response gets more and more dangerous as the days go by. If you won’t arm us at the very least armor us. It’s a start.

It shouldn’t have to come to this, but I’m glad an extra level of protection is being made available for some EMS agencies.

I don’t understand why this is so surprising and newsworthy. ER doctors have emotion? WHO KNEW.

Emergency “medical” personnel (pre-hospital or in hospital or LEO’s) are NOT made of steel. Some of us (if not all) will always have that one call/patient that really hits home. I’ll never understand why one of us showing emotion “fascinating” to the general public.

I don’t know either. I’m assuming you saw it off a news site too? That’s where I grabbed it from, some link off by FB, on some random news site. The picture was taken by an EMT that was aware of the situation and wanted to highlight the humanity of the picture - not that I feel it needs to be defined. You’re absolutely right in your assessment and I fully agree.

I saw the original post on reddit, then it made the rounds on facebook and then the “news” took off with it and that’s what I have a problem with, the “news” making it seem like such an obscure premise
